The square is surrounded by a couple of remarkable buildings, among them the old town hall (photo 1) the cloth merchants' guild hall (Kaiserworth), the house with the carillon, etc.
The fountain in the middle of the square bears a replica of a medieval eagle sculpture (photo 3). The eagle is Goslar's heraldic symbol and refers to the town's tradition as imperial city.
The tourist information, in case you need it, is located on the eastern side of the square.
