Travel Tips for Hannover
general about Hanover

You hear a lot of things of hanover - is the ugliest city in Germany, boring..
I lived 1,5 Years in Hanover and its not as bad. True its not charming and energizing like other citys, but the people surprised me, they are very friendly, open minded and normal. We found really fast some friends and made many contacts. I found some nice places in Hanover and good Restaurants, and even though it was totaly destroyed in the 2. war it has some nice old quarters to live, which is oststadt, List and Herrenhausen. Very nice is the big parc Eilenriede, perfect for jogging and children.
Jogging, biking or skating around lake Maschsee

lake Maschsee is a good very central place to do some sports. One time around the lake it is a distance of 6,2 km. It is also a good way to go with roller blades. a bike.... or skates... or....sport shoes...
Nice bar in old town

A really cosy place in the old town. You have to go down some stairs to the cellar of one of the last old town houses that have not been destroyed during the WWII. It is small, the air is after some hours quite bad, but this bar is mostly crowded, a nice ambience, good prices.
Bar / Bistro Alex

A really big building placed on the so far building free Klagesmarkt place that has been used only as parking and market place. This typical modern kind of bistro/bar/restaurant/.... and I don´t know what more offers to a bit about average prices all kind of beverage, an average cuisine an da lot of special offers for breakfast, brunch etc.
Maschsee

Maschsee is a nice lake in the south of Hannover. You can go skating around this lake, or a lot of people jogging, cycling or walking around and you can rent a boat. or make a trip with a ship - but it´s not spectacular;)
