Not a bad place but as with most of these chain type hotels they're all prety much very similar. Would say it was fine if you were here on business, if not I'd look elsewhere. It's in a nice part of town and although we got taxis everywhere think you can walk to the town centre.
The hotel itself is well equiped and has everythign you could need from health and fitness facilities to a beer garden.
I'm not usually one to stay in a chain hotel, but I knew our flight into Hannover was going to be in the early hours and I wanted somewhere central that would guarantee a late arrival. Oh, and air miles!
I got a good rate through Expedia, but to be honest I can't say much about the hotel because our stay was so short (our flight landed at midnight and we were out the door of the hotel around 9 that morning). If you're looking for a place to stay with an international standard of quality plus luxury bedding, this fits the bill.
Breakfast was not included in the 65 euro I paid for a room with a king size bed. We were in a lovely corner room with windows on two sides overlooking the AWD football stadium across the road. It was the first time I've had a shower where you can precisely control the temperature of the water. It was also the first time I had to fill out a questionnaire left on the bed before I could go to sleep (see photo).
The hotel has a great setting between the Machsee lake and a park that leads up to the new town hall. You'll be about a 5-minute walk from the new town hall, Kestner Museum, Landesmuseum and Sprengel gallery so a full morning's sightseeing is right outside your door.
Apparently the hotel used to be a casino, but it's huge. It's about a 20-minute walk from the main train station, maybe less if we hadn't avoided the park on our way in.
