You should sit in the Panorama restaurant at the top of Karstadt shop in Georgstrasse(the main pedestrian street) and have a nice cup of cappucino coffee or italian ice-cream viewing whole city beneath your lying legs:)

Hello to all:
We have a tournament we woukd kije to go in Hannover on March 14th and 15th. I looked at all low cost airlines and only Air Berlin flies there and the rate right now is like 180€ each. Can someone give me a list of Low cost airlines that come to Hannover? Maybe I am missing one with a real deal.
Also, any big city (such as Frankfurt) near? Maybe we can fly to a mearby city and then move by train.
Thanks guys and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it!
For schedules and fares about low cost flights within Europe take a look at these sites:
www.whichbudget.com
www.flycheapo.com
www.flylc.com
www.harefares.com
Perhaps you could also look at the city of Bremen (I think Ryanair is flying to Bremen)
You can check times and fares (in English) for onward train travel on the excellent:
http://www.bahn.de/international/view/en/index.shtml
Ryanair flies e.g. from Girona to Bremen.
From Bremen you can use the Lower-Saxony-Ticket to travel by regional trains to Hannover. EUR 27,00 for 2-5 persons traveling together. Covers also the trams and buses in Bremen and Hannover. Validity
Mo-Fr from 9am till 3am next day
Sa,Su from 9am till 3am next day
DB timetable

From: Flughafen, Bremen
To: Hannover
and select as means of transport "only local transport" if you like to use the Lower-Saxony Ticket. You can buy this ticket on spot from ticket machines at the tram stop at Bremen Flughafen (airport).
pssst...
I knew AirBerlin is known as a low cost.
try to go by Iberia/AirFrance/Lufthansa... it will be much more
Beside there are about three hours flight each way, total six and a plane seat at 30 Euro/Hour is not so expensive for flying in Europe and from main airports not Paris-Beauvais, Milan (Bergamo), Barcelona Girona (GRO), Barcelona Reus (REU)....
Hope you'll find for less, but if you'll wait, you'll pay more as the recargo por combustible is now 35 Euro each way but lowest fares are always gone soon and only higher fares will be left.
Must be a meeting (beside Bundesliga match between Hannover 96 vs Borussia Dortmund) 'cause fare is increasing [just checked it] return fare is about 220 euros (37Euro/Hour).
How far is it between Bremen and Hannover by train?
Thanks to all. This has been mist helpgul

will give you all the info about train times and fares in English. It will even give you the platform from which the train departs/arrives (click 'details').
Bremen to Hannover takes around an hour, depending on the train. One-way fare for one person from 20.20 euro (again, depending on train).

Once in a year, there is a small ice hockey team cup in the Preussag Arena here in Hannover.
The national teams of Canada, Switzerland, USA and Germany are taking part. Sounds fantastic, but usually it's not the "real" national teams that are showing up, the most important players are missing usually.
I have been there twice now, and I'm not too excited. Well, I prefer to freeze at the good old Pferdeturm stadium instead of sitting in a warm hall....maybe it's the flair that is missing at this cup!!!
The actors on the ice are giving their best though! Don't bring your winterjacket, it always heated well inside....
When the German capital was changed from Bonn to Berlin the members of parliament suddenly lost their local bar where they could drink 'Kölsch' and celebrate 'Karneval'. That's when in Berlin a bar called 'Ständige Vertretung' opened and people loved it because it brought some 'Rheinland' feeling to Berlin.
After new bars in Berlin and Hamburg a 'Ständige Vertretung' was opened in Hannover recently. So when I leave my new home in the 'Rheinland' for a weekend in Hannover I can make sure I get my local drink and food there now, too ;)
Everytime I am there there are mostly Asian people sitting in here - which I think is a good sign. Or then the owner pays them to sit there ;-) There's also a (very funny!) picture showing German chancellor Gerhard Schröder and his wife eating here. They basically live next door ;) The spring rolls are extremely tasty!! The main courses are great, too!
these kind of "plant-carrier" were used to transportate e.g. big orange-trees from the great gardens (Herrenhäuser Gärten) to the buildings where they stayed during the winter.
The Berggarten is a botanical garden.
In the middle of the garden is placed a mausoleum built by the noted architect Laves, it is the last resting place of the members of Hannover's royal family. A great collection of rare and exotic plants can be found in the greenhouses of the Rock Garden. You can see there not only the largest European collection of orchids, but also one of the most impressive cactus displays of its kind.
