Swinging Hannover
by nepalgoods
Swinging Hannover is my favourite festival in Hannover. It is always on Ascension Day. On that day there is a very big and famous Jazz-Festival in Hannover. After playing Jazz on Wednesday evening and night, the musicians gather in front of the New Town Hall on Thursday morning and make music.
Jazz on Tramplatz is for free. More than 30000 people come every year to listen to the music, drink a beer and have fun.
Even the local television is showing the Jazz-festival.
Theatre
by nepalgoods about Schauspielhaus
Schauspielhaus Hannover was build in 1992. Since then it made its name famous with spectacular performances like "Hamlet" from Shakespeare, with which they toured even to South America. Last year the best in my eyes was "Best of Dreigroschenoper" with Dominique Horwitz, who is a famous German actor.
Schauspielhaus also houses the Theatre Museum, the only one in Germany. Casual

The outlook of the restaurant is pretty. The food it serves is nice as well. We 7 people sat waiting, but the waiter (from Barcelona, Spain) came late so the ordering took some time. (2006)
Green salad is boring. Mixed salad with tomato slices is recommended. I ordered "tris di pasta". It means 3 kinds of pasta together. The taste is good and you can enjoy at once 3, very econimic. (2006)
I ate Lagsane. The field was small. Tasty, but salty. My colleague ate vegetable pasta, it's spagetti with green creme. Tasty, but easy to get tired of it (2007)
Best Zoo of Europe
by Gerrem
Enjoy it !
Although it's a little expensive, the zoo is a must. If you go there you need time. Normally you can't see everything in one day.
My tip is: take a trip with the boat, you have a better view on many animals there and it is better for your feet.
The picture you see is also made on the boat trip.
Feel the nature

No-one can drive by without catching sight of the curve of the leaflike glass dome over the 16-metre-high Rainforest House in the Hill Garden (Berggarten), which was opened at the time of the World Exposition EXPO 2000. In this “Guggenheim Museum for plants” visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the tropics.
This jungle cathedral is located at the entrance to the Hill Garden, a picturesque 24-acre area with more than 10,000 species of plants from all over the world. Among the greenhouses, a particular highlight is the one containing the orchid collection.
It’s a great place for children. There are many little birds and butterflies flying around and you can also see snakes and other reptiles. My daughter was enthusiastic.
