Hannover to Amsterdam

by loomy_26

Hello all of you!!
In about 10 days I will be to Witten for businness.
I think that from Witten there is no train to Amsterdam.
Does anybody know how to go to Amsterdam?Maybe from Hannover?

I don't know how you looked for the trains.

>Does anybody know how to go to Amsterdam?Maybe from Hannover?

And how are you supposed to get from Witten to Hannover? :-)
There are no direct trains from Witten to Amsterdam. So what. Have a look at www.bahn.de for schedules - there is absolutely no need for a direct train connection unless you have 5 suitcases with you. You would have to change in Düsseldorf.

I had never heard of Witten but it seems it is near Dortmund: http://ls12.cs.uni-dortmund.de/cgep-98/travel.html
Dortmund to Amsterdam by train takes just under 3 hours changing at Duisburg (I use http://plannerint.b-rail.be/bin/query.exe/en?L=b-rail& for train enquiries but obviously you would do better to use the d-bahn site as you will be starting your journey in Germany).

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: Witten
To: Amsterdam

If you want it cheap you can travel on local trains Düsseldorf or Duisburg (EUR 8,25).
And from there on an Europe Special ticket to Amsterdam (from EUR 19,00).

Travel Tips for Hannover

Parliament buildings

by chancay

The Leineschloß, today the parliament building for Niedersachsen government, dates back to the 12th century. Originally it was a Franciscan convent which was dissolved in 1553. When the Duke of Calenberg took residence in Hannover in 1636 parts of the building were redecorated. In the 19th century after Hannover hat become a kingdom, the whole Leineschlo§ burned out almost completely, only the portico remained. When ist was rebuilt, the modern assembly hall was added.

Christian Churches

by nepalgoods

Not only Katholic and Protestant Churches can be found, but also Orthodox and Baptists Churches are represented in Hannover. To find out more about all this please use the link below!

Old Town strikes back

by gusgom

Walking around the old town, you will see a Protestan Church with a statu of Martin Luter outside, and in front of this church ( which I believe it used to be a Jewish sinagoge before Hitler's times because it has David stars in the facade) there is a bar called Bar-Celona with nice cocktails, fruit and desserts.
