Meeting points
by sabsi
This is where we normally meet when we meet in town...
at the 'Kr?pcke Uhr'. The square called 'Kr?pcke' was named after Wilhelm Kr?pcke who owned a coffee house there from 1885-1919. 25 years ago the new Cafe Kr?pcke was opened by M?venpick at the same spot. The clock is only there since 1977 - it's a replica of a weather column from 1885.
The Sabsi Pub-Crawl
by orlikins about Celtic Tiger, Fischers & Bismarcks
Sabsi took us to the main spots in Hannover - The Celtic Tiger, Fischers etc (here's a pic of us in Bismarcks) and got me utterly addicted to Caprinhas! (you will pay for this, Sabsi...!) We were down by the Student area, so you didnt have to be really dressed-up

Marktkirche
by travelbuff007
The Marktkirche ("The Church on the Marketplace") is a church in downtown Hannover. It was said built in the 14th century and, together with the nearby Old Town Hall, is considered the southernmost exemplar of the "North German neo-Gothic" architectural style... suppppperrrr creeepy. According to history the building was destroyed in World War II and rebuilt in to the same plan in 1952.
Hannover Zoo......
by chancay
if you would like to see some more pictures from the Zoo in Hannover have a look at my travelogues in "Niedersachsen" (Lower Saxony)
The Hannover Zoo is quite modern, they try to build places where the animals feel "like home".
Only what people know, can they love.
Only what they love will they protect.
This is the philosophy behind Hannover's new Zoo. It was declared an EXPO-Project called "EXPOnat Hannover Zoo" ("Exhibit Hannover Zoo"), with an entirely new concept of visitors' experience. The new attractions like the Gorilla Mountain, Jungle Palace, Meyers Hof, Sambesi and (in the near future) Arktika, were designed as enclosures (rather than the traditional cages) where the animals can live in conditions similar to their natural habitats.
