Art
by nepalgoods
Hannover is full of art work, sculptures and interesting modern buildings. Sculptures can be as colorful and beautiful as the Nanas of Niki de St Phalle or as ugly as a heap of junk. But is always worth to explore the city for all the old and new sculptures!
Döhrener Turm
by nepalgoods
In the Middle Ages Hannover like all cities in Germany had a city wall. Outside of the wall were the fields of the farmers and a forest, which is today the city forest. In this city forest were more fortifications, which were specially helpful during the long war in the beginning of the 17th century.
The Döhrener Turm was first mentioned in 1371 as part of the fortifications. When you walk in the city forest, you can still see ditches and low earthen walls, which are remains of this old fortifications.
The Döhrener Turm can be reached by tram no 1, 2 or 8, station "Döhrener Turm"

The Rainforst house
by chancay
As another exciting event for the EXPO 2000 a Rain forest house was built in the Berggarten. There you´´ll find a absolutley tropical atmosphere with all its vegetation and fauna. Besides there are some very toxic frogs, fortunately behind thick bulletproof glass.
