Central-Hotel Kaiserhof: What a find!
I had much more than a pleasant stay at this hotel. I was given a special price because at the time of booking, the building was undergoing major renovations both inside and out. By the time I arrived some months later, the interior refurbishment had been completed and all that was left to do was the final touches of paint on the outside of the building. So, I had a beautiful room at an excellent price. Having said that, I would still return to this hotel regardless of the price.
The location could not be better. It is right across the square from the Hauptbahnhof and is completely surrounded by wonderful shopping and restaurants etc. The hotel itself has a great restaurant which I patronised most of the five nights I was there. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was spotlessly clean and my only complaint (if you could call it that) was that there was no aircon or fan and at the time I was there , the temperature was in the 30s. However, not to be put off, I simply unpacked my little desk fan that I always carry with me and the problem was solved.

Avalon: Charming budget hotel
This charming little hotel is in a typical 19th century old building which means with no elevator (so request a room on the first floor if you are going to complain about walking up the 3 floors every time.)
The rooms are nicely decorated in warm colors. Most of them have private bathrooms (request one if that's important for you) and some are more quiet than others (the ones to the back of the building.) The prices are 60€ for a single room and 80€ for a double. They also have an appartment for more people, which might be an interesting option if you're a group of friends/a family traveling together.
Breakfast is served every morning from 7am to 10am, but you also have loads of different options in the area such as Treibhaus, Cafe Tabac, etc.
The Avalon is located in the List neighborhood, a residential neighborhood with charm, nice old 19th century buildings, bars, restaurants, and more importantly walking distance to the city center. There is also a subway station (Lister Platz) a few steps away, and driving to the Messe with a rental car or a taxi will take you about 15 minutes.
Each time we have guests visiting us, they stay at the Avalon, and they have all been very satisfied.

B&B: Rent a room during the fair
During the Fairs, the price of the accomodation in the Hannover hotels are extremely increasing . In fact I have checked that Hotels in the area are offering 70-100% higher prices compared than the usual rates when no Fair takes the place.
Therefore I have checked for B&B Hannover and they have provided a room in a flat .
I was given a room in the district called Misburg- Bad and host family was very friendly and privided almost everythig I expected.
The room was quite large enough, with TV and toilet was shared with the host family.

Private Accommodation during Hanover Fair Times
For accommodation (hotel and private rooms) you can get into contact with the tourist board via :
Under "Private rooms" you can fill out an order form. Prices range from 45-54 Euro for a private single room including breakfast . They also offer hotel rooms (hotels are much more expensive. During fair times, all (!) accommodations are more expansive then usually!).
Should above page appear only in German, go back to their homepage, where you can select the language.

Courtyard by Marriott: Another hotel I stayed in
This is the hotel with the best location in the whole of Hannover I think. It is located directly at the lake "Maschsee" in the middle of town. Rooms are nice and quite big and there is an ice machine on each floor so that you could even have a cocktail party in your room.
They serve a wonderful breakfast buffet with everything you need. However, the best about the breakfast is that you can have it on the terrace at the north shore of the lake. A beautiful location!

Dorint: The only hotel I actually stayed in in Hannover
I can't really remember much and missed the breakfast but I remember that it was very nice!
One of the best hotels in Hannover. If you want to stay in the very best go to the Arabella Sheraton in "Pelikan Viertel"

There are approximately 9000 hotel rooms in Hanover many of which are geared towards the business and corporate visitors that descend on the city during the major trade fairs. Hotel prices for a double room with breakfast usually start at DM120. A 10.5% tax is included in hotel bills. Hanover Tourist Information (tel: (0511) 301 412) offers a number of special visitors' packages including discounted accommodation and other incentives. General information and bookings for hotels and other accommodation in the city can be obtained from the Hotel-und Privatzimmer Service of the Hanover Congress & Tourism Centre (tel: (0511) 811 3500; fax: (0511) 811 3541).

We stayed there only for one...
We stayed there only for one night, but it was great how clean and well cared was everything.
We didn't stay in a hotel, it was like a camp, with wood houses like appartments. Men from the army took care about the place.
All was very clean and comfortable.
