From bus to train station
by 2xygiedre
Hello everyone,
This August i'm going to visit Hannover and i need to go from Hannover bus station to train station and then to go to Alfeld. Is it a long distance between these objects? Is it easy to find the way?
Thanks for your replys

Distance is about 600 m.
Use google maps to show you the route.
From: Hannover ZOB
To: Hannover Hbf

If you open Google Maps and copy/paste these coordinates you can see where the Central Bus station ( Zentraler Omnibus Bahnhof or "ZOB" ) is adjacent to the train station. ( Hannover Hauptbahnhof.)

Travel Tips for Hannover
Hanover Fairs (Cebit, Hanover Industrial Fair etc.

Well, having received a request from a VTer concerning private accommodation in Hanover during fair times and on how to get best to Hanover from Frankfurt, I thought this might be of interest to many other VTers, too.
Well,
if you cannot get a direct flight to Hanover airport (we have an international airport at Hanover!), I would advise you to take an onward flight (might be expensive and booked out long time before) or an "Intercity" train from frankfurt airport (approx. 2hours ride). You could try to buy the ticket as early as possible via
www.bahn.de
which is the official page of our "Bundesbahn" (state trains). Klick on
"Int.Guest" and you'll come to their page in English! Important: The earlier you
book, the less expensive it might get and the more sure it'll be, that you do in fact get a ticket. All transportation fascilities to Hanover during Fair times are very strongly frequented.
Another 2 solutions:
Try to buy a return ticket via any travel agent in your country (?) or when arriving at Frankfurt airport, try to find your way to the station and buy it at the "Deutsche Bahn"- information desk. (You'll have to ask your way there - even we find it terribly difficult to get down to the correct train level at Frankfurt ;-)
By the way - at Hanover Fair times, most trains (all?) passing by stop at Hannover Messegelände (fair grounds). Check out!
For accommodation (hotel and private rooms) you can get into contact with the tourist board via :
http://www.hannover.de/deutsch/doku/hanntour/PZCeHMIe.pdf
Under "Private rooms" you can fill out an order form. Prices range from 45-54 Euro for a private single room including breakfast . They also offer hotel rooms (hotels are much more expensive. During fair times, all (!) accommodations are more expansive then usually!).
Should above page appear only in German, go back to their homepage, where you can select the language.
Good luck!

Aplace where I´ve been really often during my student time to have a good breakfast for an absolutely fair price. Besides you can play pool and darts there. Also very good pizzas and salads you get there.

It´s situated in a station and sometimes it seems that the train are running straight through your table... The interior is quite modern with huge modern oaintings which I really like a lot.... The staff is very friendly!!! I always have the lamb in a red tomato sauce with vegetables.... Aside comes a very tasty selfmade bread and a salad!!! Yummy! All dishes are cooked in a stoneoven........
masch park
by Lucky79
The Masch Park, also called "Park of the Twin Towns", is located between the New Town Hall and Lake Maschsee. It is part of a large green area that offers excellent opportunities for recreation and leisure activities in the Southern City. The park was designed at the end of the last century by the Municipal Garden Director Julius Trip, one of the leading garden artists of his time. The walk ways around the Maschteich "a pond inside the Park" invite to leisurely strolls during lunch breaks and, of course, at any other time of the day and let you enjoy the pleasant "green spot" just behind the Town Hall.
