At the station
This drab-looking building is actually a quite pleasant hotel with a very convenient location just across from the Osnabrück railway station. I booked through hrs.de and paid 70 Euros per night for a single room, including breakfast, which I thought was a reasonable price.
With my booking I specified that I wanted to rent a bicycle. They had one ready for me when I arrived (third photo). It turned out to be from Hasetal-Rad, a local firm that rents bikes and offers a variety of bicycle tours in the region. The price for bicycle rental was seven Euros per day, but they only charged me for one day even though I used the bike for a day and a half.
