You can take train from Charlroi to Liege Gulliames train station.
I don't know is it your first visit to Charlroi, but you need local bus, to take you to the station first.
One way ticket is €1.80, once the bus drops you at the station, you have to walk across and go underground to come up again at the dept platforms.
I think the Liege one departs from platform #9
Once you arrice to Gulliames you change for local train to Aachen.
Euroregio train and ask for euroregio ticket.
Will be cheaper.
I usualy travel opsite direction.
Ticket to the first small village within Belgum and than I get ticket for within Belgume including Charlroi.
Aachen have few train stations, but you
need to get out to Hauptbanhhof.
Bahnhofplatz 2A, Aachen - tel: 0049 (0)241 4332357

In front of the train station, there is bus stop and nealry 20 different buses stop there to take you to different parts of town.
Good source of info on Aachen ,

Travel Tips for Aachen
The Town Hall
by kylian74
Sorry to this poor quality photo but I had no choice than to take at least one shot on that late afternoon....it was getting dark and gosh, do I have to miss talking pix of their town hall? which is one of Aachen top tourist attraction because of it's GOTHIC architecture that was built in the 14th century.
The Marketplatz, place to...
by ceswho
The Marketplatz, place to people watch, dine, hang out with friends. Restaurants all around this place.
Look out, alot of studnets hang out here, so if you need solitude, this is not the place. it gets noisy at times. Check out the history of famous head of states that has been here as well as the paintings of the Roman empire.
May Day
by staindesign
MayDay or Labor Day. In Rhineland, May 1 is also celebrated by the delivery of a tree covered in streamers to the house of a girl the night before. The tree is typically from a love interest, though a tree wrapped only in white streamers is a sign of dislike. On leap years, it is the responsibility of the females to place the maypole, though the males are still allowed and encouraged to do so.
My Experience, I only saw these trees in Aachen. There were a few not many. I saw one outside the apartment of a friend, she told me that the tree belonged to the up stairs couple. The boyfriend supposedly is placing a tree each year for his girlfriend "steffi".
Aachen as a pilgrimage-town
by Pavlik_NL
The cathedral and the grave of Charlemagne are also a pilgrimage destination for several centuries. The idea of having a new Rome has - in this case - come true. Especially in 1937 when the pilgrimage took over 800.000 people. This was however in those days also seen as a silent protest against what was going on in Germany. The Nazi-party was definately not beloved in Aachen as the town already had seen enough bloodshead and destruction through the centuries before.
Printen

This is the item Aachen is reknown for. It is a spicey gingerbread . It comes in many varieties and shapes - all that i have tried are yummy! You will see it in many bakeries in town Nobis, Lambetz factory etc
