Very yummy but watch out!

The Avli is a Greek restaurant in the city centre but nevertheless there is a wonderful terrace where you can enjoy the tasty Mediterranean food that is served. I have only been there once so far and had a platter of mixed starters which I shared with my friend. It was delicious and I would always order it again.
The main dish, which I took from the regular menue, was also very nice but next time I might try some of the fish that is offered on the display as a daily special. We will see.

Well, now I have been there twice and I do not really want to go again.
My purse got stolen from my coat's pocket! What a hassle!
Food was again very good but...

Have to change my rating from 'Very Satisfied' to 'Somewhat Unsatisfied'.

Guests of the Riemke Kirche

"A month early?"

This was the first town I ever visited that was not in the UK. I went as part of a group from College, who were travelling around Europe as part of a European study tour.

We were staying as guests of the local Lutheran Church in Bochum. We arrived on time according to our schedule, but there was no sign of life at Riemke Kirche - so our leader Bill Hugh went looking for Pastor Meyer our host.

The pastor was in his garden having a coffee and reading his newspaper. With some surprise, he looked up and said " Hello Bill, what are you doing here?" It appeared that some where along the line we were expected a month from that point in time.

Our first piece of hospitality was to be taken to the nearest pub and bought a drink - as hosts were very quickly found and communicated with......such hospitality.

Technically this was not in Bochum, however I have very few images from this trip. The picture was taken when the group visited the Ruhr University.

Our leader was Herr Bill Hugh and slightly further back is another leader Herr Bob Miller. Not to miss anyone, the other member of staff with us was Tom Hopton.

All were lecturers in the Department of Building, Kirkcaldy College of Technology.

Michael and Andrew were part of the group who visited Europe. This was taken inside a lecture theatre, which was able to accommodate some many thousands of students.

It was the equivalent of our College's room 101 - sadly it could only accommodate 100 people
