The bus stop "Opernhaus" is approx. 100 m from the KD dock.

You could also walk through the pedestrian zone -- just keep east, it is impossible to miss the Rhine :) should take no longer 15 minutes (distance about 1500 meters). The bus might be 5-10 minutes quicker, but only if you get one right away without having to wait. If you add the time to figure out the bus stop plus possible waiting time plus the clockwise detour that the bus needs to make because of the one-way street system in the inner city, I seriously doubt taking the bus will be quicker than a quick walk through town.
You can print out a map of the inner city here on VT when going to the VT Bonn page.

PS: In order to find the docks on a map, they are right behind the opera house. Here is a webcam link to show you how it looks like:

Travel Tips for Bonn
The Rathaus (Town Hall)
by DrewV
See the Rathaus (town hall) in all its glorious pinkness. The governmental buildings that were built for the Bundestag (parliament) are modern (ie, butt-ugly), so for photo ops, the muckamucks of West Germany would come to the Rathaus and stand and look impressive. Kennedy did this when he was in town. It works if the camera is black and white. Throw in colour and, well, it's pink. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Boat trip on Rhine
by babar_1
If you have some time, take a boat ride along the river rhine, it is really romantic. You can see beautiful castels and small towns along the sides of this beautiful river river.
Our trip was really fantastic!
Stadtmuseum
by Nemorino
This City Museum gives a fine overview of the history of Bonn from Roman times up to the present.
Second photo: Exhibit on the persecution of the Jews in Bonn during the Nazi period.
Third photo: Though most of the Nazi victims were Jews, other groups were also persecuted, for instance political opponents, Sinti and Roma (gypsies). homosexuals and a vaguely defined group known as asocial persons.
Altes Rathaus
by Nemorino
This is the old city hall on the market place (Markt).
It was built in 1737/38, badly damaged by bombs on October 18, 1944, and reconstructed in its original form in 1949/1950.
Second photo: A painting by Carl Nunn (1876-1949) showing the Market Square and old city hall in Bonn as they looked after the wartime destruction in 1944. This painting is on display at the city museum (Stadtmuseum).
Birthplace of Beethoven
by mydreamquest
"Where Beethoven was Born"
My only reason to go to Germany's former capital was to go to the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven (Beethovenhaus), one of my favorite and one of the world's most recognized classical music composers. He was born in the pink apartment that you see here. Now it's a few blocks away from a McDonalds. His birthplace is now a Museum with many interesting artifacts of Beethoven's life. Included are instruments he played, his hearing aides, various letters and music compositions, and many other great bits of information that give you context to better understand this musical genius.
"Beethovenhaus, Bonn, Germany"
This picture is me in the backyard of the Beethovenhaus. It was a very memorable occasion and I was delighted that my good friend from Duisburg was kind enough to take me to the birthplace of one of my favorite musicians.
