Good location

I only spent one night during a business trip in this hotel, but the rooms are modern, the food is excellent, and the location is just opposite a tram that will take you to the Old Town in no time (Rudolfplatz). It seems to be frequented mostly by business travellers.

Walking distance to everything

Nice, clean and roomy. Service is a little slow but then again from my experiences in Germany, I was not surprise. The hotel has a small indoor pool (no heated water). No whirlpool/jacuzzi - which would have been nice after walking around the city all day.
They offer highspeed internet access for those who cannot live a day without it.

Unique Quality: Walking distance to Koln Dom; shopping malls, restaurants, train stations, etc.

Great Hotel

My wife and myself and 13 year old daughter had a long week-end stay in July. Really enjoyed the Crowne Plaza. Hotel was clean without being clinical. Rooms comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities replenished each day. Daughter enjoyed the pool. Nice lounge bar. Above all the staff at the hotel were first class, friendly, helpful and with a sincere smile. It has Investors in People status. It's a nice walk from the hotel into the City lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. If you are disabled as I am it is also well positioned for transport around the City with Metro and Tram just 50 yards away. To get to the main station which is next to the Dom Cathedral get a tram no. 1 or 7 (which run every few minutes) one stop to Neumarkt and then get the Metro two stops. The tram also takes you two stops to Heumarkt, nice square again with lots of nice eating places and just a few minutes from the Chocolate Museum, the Rhine (for cruises) and the Old Town. Cologne is a lovely place, people are friendly, lots to see and do. Will definitely go back. Enjoy your stay.

Unique Quality: Food was excellent, great buffet breakfast. The pool is small but nice and is free. The attendant provides robes, footwear and towels. There is a charge for the sauna but you only pay once per day and can then use it as often as you like. The photo is taken just outside the hotel in the adjoining garden.

Cirt Centre (ish) hotel

I am due to stay on 21 Jun for 3 nights so will report back on my return.

Ok have now returned and can report on my stay at this Hotel.

I agree with other posters that it is a little way away from the Main Station/Dom/Altstadt. If you are , like myself, unfit then it is quite a trek - I would say approx 15 minutes maybe a little more. That said there is public transportation on the doorstep at Rudolfplatz which will get you anywhere you want to go pretty quickly. It is one stop to Neumarkt which is an intersection for ALL the Tram/Underground system so the location is NOT a problem.

Standard of accomodation and service is as you would expect from a hotel of this standard ie excellent.

The room was very large with a comfortable large bed. There was the usual minibar and many satelite channels on the TV. One feature I haven't encountered myself before is that there was an electrically operated metal shutter on the windows.

My room rate included a buffet breakfast which was very plentiful and included the usual range you would expect from a hotel of this stature.

All in all I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Business Trap

For 240 €, you won't get a dirty room... The breakfast is not included, you need to pay 18 € ! And for all the services 5swimming pool etc...) also!!!
I hate this type of hotel... It's too big, unpersonal... What a big factory!
