2 star hotel
Hotel Mado is a 2 star hotel close to university of cologne. The hotel is very close to train lines and early in the morning you can hear the trains go by. Otherwise, the room was very quiet. There is a thermostat in the room but with no temperature gauge. At night the room often got somewhat hot. For a tourist, hotel near the center (Dom) might be better choice. Most of the restaurants near this hotel catered to the student crowd.
Unique Quality: The staff is nice and friendly. The breakfast is much better than that served in US hotels but not upto par with some of the other European hotels I had stayed at. On some days we felt that some of the items in the buffet was from previous day but I could be wrong.
