The Kölner Dom, magnificent Gothic tempel
by Pavlik_NL
The Kölner Dom is already the main point in town and forgetting to make a visit to it is like not going to eat at dinner. The Dom is in the heart of the town and around it are many meetingplaces for the citizens as well as the visitors. Irina's first inside visit to a non-Orthodox church was in the Kölner-dom. Can you imagine how overwhelmed she was? We spend a few hours, just sitting in this magnificent building that miraculously survived the bombing-raits during WW-II. From the outside, the Dom is already a true work of art and inside this only is underlined.
Rodenkirchen

This is a pretty little suburban village with interesting architectural mixes along the Rhine. It also has a restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river as you can see in the second picture. A great way to spend a sunny afternoon and you can also cruise here by boats from the city centre.

Getting around take the underground or the bus from the "KVB". Ticketing is not sooo easy. Inform yourself before you try to get the right ticket at the machine. Even for the locals it is sometimes a problem.
Brauhaus Sion

No steins but waiters were a laugh. I went for the knuckle of pork with potato and sauerkraut. It covered the whole plate as you can see. Also tried the sausage. You can't go to Germany and not have sausage, ask my mate Martin.
Leisure Park "Phantasialand"
by hellas_nici
If you enjoy leisure parks and if you travel with kids to Cologne don't miss the "Phantasialand".
You'll find a lot of attractions like roller coasters, 3D and 4D cinemas, a lots of shows like the "ice-skatink show" and many other things.
Children should probably be about 10 and older, they will enjoy it more.
It's better to rent a car to go to "Phantasialand" as it is a bit outside Cologne but there are also some buses going there I think.
Prices are a bit high but there are offers for people who study or go to school and for groups.
