internet sites in Cologne

by PhillyJohn

I will be spending a few days in Cologne next week and will not have a computer with me. Are there any internet cafes in the city that I can use e-mail? I do not think my hotel has this facility, but I am checking.

Searching google with 'internet cafes cologne' produced 7 places within the city itself, so you should not have too much of a problem. gives addresses and info.

There also are plenty of small internet sites in the town centre. I don't think that you'll have problems finding one. Here are a few addresses of small internet cafés located in the Northern part of Cologne's old town:

Marzellenstr. 3

Phone: +49 (0)221 139960

Eigelstein 108

Travel Tips for Cologne

by belgianchocolate

I didn't expect much visiting the christmas markets in Cologne. I assumed that they all sold the same boring stuff...

And then I saw my flaschentaucher .
A little ghost that lived in a bottle and dances when you push on top of that bottle. I knew we where going to be friends and she now lives in our kitchen in an old olive oil bottle..

The good thing can order friends of her on the net. (sorry only in German language)

Have a look...
The adress of the company is
Untergasse 8
55288 Armsheim

Packing List

Cologne is one of the best shopping places in Germany. In the Hohe Straße you can basically find the same shops and fast food restaurants as in any other European city. Here and in Schildergasse there are some of the main department stores. Another important shopping street is the Breite Straße. But if you keep away from these areas, you will surely discover interesting and trendy shops.

Trains, trains and more trains

by william_navigator

Cologne (and indeed most of Europe) is easily accessible by train. Nothing is as romantic or pleasant as sitting in a train watching the scenery flow by. A favorite thing to do is compare each city's train stations.

American film style food

by milugares about Whistle Stop Cafe

Named like that cafe of the famous film.

A choice of huge hamburgers, french fries and sticky but tasty spare ribs, in a american-style decorated bar.

It´s not easy to find a seat in the evening.

Chocolate overdose!

One place I couldnt avoid visiting because of my 2 chocoholic daughters was the Imhoff-Stollwerck Chocolate Museum...and am I glad they dragged me along! Many lessons learnt here today, so we´re never too old to learn something new, and after walking the tour of this amazing factory I now know where that chocolate bar originated from. From seeing how coca beans are grown, theres even a mini tropical forest that you can wander thru, to how they are refined and eventually how they come out the other end ready for the wrapper! At the far end of the factory stands a huge molten chocolate fountain where a young lady invites you to dip a sponge finger into this liquid heaven. Up to the next floor to the museum where there are many old chocolate vending machines, posters, factory equipment and a small early 1900s shop. Back to the ground floor and into the modern shop where you can buy all the chocolate you want. It was quite difiicult to get my daughters to leave! This is a great place to visit for all the family and not just the kids. open Tues-Fri 10am-18.00. Sat/Sun & Hols 11am-19.00. Entrance 6euros
