A good bet
I stayed two nights at the Leonot. It is well located near the Neumarkt shopping area, about two km walk to the Heumarkt shopping and cafe area. The hotel is just off a main street, but quietly located on a small street. The room was nice size and very clean. The bathroom was small but was comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The 24hr reception was helpful and friendly, even when I returned at 2:00 AM. The hotel claims 4 stars, but is a solid three star choice at a reasonable three star price. I would recommend it. It even has a wellness center downstairs with hot-tub, and sauna. Breakfast was included in the 65 euro/night price. I would also recommend the Mado Hotel. I did not stay there, but friends from Colonge as said that it is a very nice place, also at reasonable prices.
Unique Quality: Good location, fitness center with hot tub and sauna.

Leonet, Köln, a cosy hotel near restaurants
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. It is first of all located in an excellent place (depending on what you want to do). It is 3 and 5 minutes' walks away from the lively restaurant and bar areas (Friesenplatz and Rudolfplatz) but yet in a very quiet side street.
The hotel has a parking place inside/back in their yard, it costs 9 euros per day.
The furniture and the ambiance of the reception and small lounge area is cosy and the small fireplace -though electric- makes me want to sit down for a while and just do nothing.
The rooms are good double rooms, clean, all usual amenities. Extra plus for soft beds and pillows!
Unique Quality: I think I didn't even find out all the nice things they had as we stayed only one night, and had to leave already between 5-6 a.m. to the airport to catch our flight. I think the web pages tell more.

I just stayed in the Leonet Hotel for two nights. I was in town for the Photokina show. I have certainly been in hotels that were more fancy, but I have never stayed in a hotel with or more helpful or more friendly staff. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.

Comfortable hotel near the city center
Very cosy comfortable double room with little bathroom. Rooms have phone and cable tv. The hotel offers very good conditions through the "HRS" system online booking (paid 50 Euro for double room, no breakfast).
Extra breakfast seems a bit expensive with 10 Euro per person.
Hotel has 24 hours reservation, you can pay with all usual credit cards.
- only few parking places, but there are some ;-) -15 min walk to the pedestrian area.
