clean & convenient
If you are driving into Cologne (firstly have a good map and a co-driver with calm & a good sense of direction!) this is a good hotel because it has parking (which is a big bonus in Cologne) and it is situated on a big road - thus easy (or at least easier than some) to find!
Booked on internet on Novotel's website and cost E89 for a family room, not including breakfast.
Have never been let down by a Novotel and this was no exception - clean and convenient. Has everything one needs when travelling (by car).
A bit of a walk into town but the ease of arriving in the car outweighed this.

Novotel City is located just minutes from the old town.
It has modern, well equipped rooms and very good breakfast.
Unique Quality: They have some great promotions sometimes. The weekend rates start from 50 Eur.

From Köln West to the airport
Does the airport shuttle pass anywhere near the Novotel (Köln West: Horbeller Str. 1
50858-Köln Marsdorf) on its way to the airpot? Is there an easy way you can go from there (Hotel) to the airport on a non-taxi basis, weekend, early in the morning?

Hi,
No, the Shuttle bus goes nowhere near there. It goes from the main train station in the centre of town, via Köln Deutz and out to the airport. The bus number is 170 and costs €5 each way. You would be best off getting the bus into Deutz and then getting the number 7 U-Bahn to get out towards Frechen. Get off at Stüttgenhof and try and get a taxi from there..
