drop by and explore the awesome Cologne Cathedral. It was drizzling when we arrived at the main entrance to the Cathedral (see pic). Anyhow, it ALWAYS seem to drizzle in Spring in Europe and the temperature that afternoon had dropped to a chilly (I think) 5 degrees Celcius. Brrrr...
Needless to add, my teeth was chattering away. By then, a large crowd had also started to gather outside this massive landmark... perhaps to seek shelter from the drizzle too.
Right Bank

Don't get fooled and think that Cologne is just at one side of the Rhine river. When you stay at the Dome side, you will miss many things about Cologne.
Go to the other side of Rhne river (there is a footpath at the trainbridge) and discover a huge cosy beergarden in front of a large hotel, monumental buildings, nice statues and Rhineparc!
Just as weel, as our hotel is on this side of the river!
Sabsmobile

We got from Cologne to Dusseldorf and back courtesy of Sabs and her amazing little Lupo. It defied all the odds to get us back to Cologne station for our trip home after we over indulged in Father Ted videos and completely forgot the time!
Cozy Place for Tapas & More
by RhineRoll about Rosendorn
If you want the special atmosphere of Cologne's Old Town but don't really want to visit one of the traditional Brewery houses, Cafe Rosendorn might be worth checking out. This small & cozy Spanish-themed Brasserie and Tapas bar is hidden away on Ostermannplatz the small square between Neumarkt and the Rhine.
Good food, varied choice of hot and cold tapas, excellent service. Come here for a good selection of hot & cold tapas along with the obvious Kölsch (Früh from draught) or a good Spanish wine.
The Dom
by shysta38
The Dom is a must see. It is right next to the train station and it only costs about 1 euro (for students) to climb to the top. The climb to the top might take a while, but the view from the top, makes the climb worth it.
