The contrast to Dormagen
by MikeAtSea
Zons feels a bit out of place if one looks toward the horizon and sees the chimneys of the chemical industry in the nearby town of Dormagen, to which Zons today belongs. Many chemical companies are situated here on the left and right side of the Rhine River.
VT Meeting 27 February 2005 II

Michael was more touristy than me so he was allowed to throw some money into the windmill to make it turn. Here he is posing for a touristy picture when throwing Win's coin into the funny machine....
.... and the windmill started to turn!
We walked on to a strange pig fountain where we took a lot of "pigtures" and almost caught a bladder infection sitting on the ice cold creatures.
Here's Claus in his best pig rodeo position.
To warm up again we went for a walk through the fields towards the Rhine dyke. We only dared to walk up onto the dyke for a minute though as the wind was really evil up there.
Steffi was wearing her new red jacket so that I could test the colours of my new camera ;)
As soon as we were really frozen we drove to Knechtsteden, another part of Dormagen where we had reserved a table in a pancake barn. Unfortunately barn meant "not very warm" so we continued freezing here quite a bit. But with warm pancakes, dark beers and lots of laughs we survived somehow.
We said Byebye quite early because work was waiting the next day and because we were cold or sick or both.
Thanks for everybody who came and especially Win for organising this nice day! See ya all soon!
