My Son has a short term fellowship at the University of Dortmund.
May I request directions by train from Frankfurt Airport to The University Campus at Dortmund.

There are many trains from Frankfurt am Main Flughafen Terminal 1 to Dortmund Hbf. It's very easy to get to the University from there.
For example, I searched for 30 November and found various choices:
Duration from 2h42m to 4h15m
Savings Fares from 58 Euros
Standard Fares from 114 to 162 Euros

Since smoking has been banned in restaurants in Germany it has become difficult for smokers. Being a non-smoker I don't actually care.
But the thing is that some small restaurants have declared themselves smoking clubs for members only. This one is located near the postoffice behind Dortmund railway station.
Friedensplatz means peace square. Here on the peace square you will find the town hall, the city hall, the peace column.
The square was redesigned in the late 80s and the Berswordt hall was added to the town hall in 2002. You can enter the Berswordt hall freely and there is a café inside too.
