Propsteikirche by yumyum
The Propsteikirche is the main catholic church and is dedicated to St. Johann the Baptist. Dominican monks built this church from 1331 when the monastery was founded as well. It took centuries to finish constructing the church. In 1816 the monastery was closed and this church was the first post reformation catholic church. In 1859 it was elevated to Probsteikirche. In the Second World War it was almost entirely destroyed. Between 1953 and 1966 the church was rebuilt.
