Inside the church is quite large. Make sure you go to the other end as you will find the famous Antwerp altar from 1521 behind a makeshift wall. It?s by master Gilles and is the biggest altar of Westfalia with 633 figures, it is also called the ?golden wonder?. At certain times you can go on a tour behind the wall, if not then you can look through the windows like I did.
You can see the closed wing altar in the week before Easter. The side with the paintings (see my photo) you can see from Whitsunday until the beginning of October and the golden wonder from the 1st Sunday in October until before Easter and again until Whitsunday. The altar was not destroyed in the war because it was taken to security during that time.
