When i let free myself, then i start to appreciate things around. Simply remind me of a childhood fun, in a playground: running, jump and spring, fun-fighting. Everyone have their own childhood memory, i suppose.

About 20 km. east of Dusseldorf is the town of Neandertal, where the Neandertal Man was found a century ago. At first, people didn't recognize the bones as human. Neandertal has a truly excellent museum on the Neandertal people and their lives. The museum has a small cafe on the roof, with nice views. The whole area is very pretty and worth a visit. You definitely need a car to get there.

From the UK it has to be by air.
Buzz airlines are cheap from Stansted.
The airport is connected by rail to the town centre in around 10 mins (3.30 DM)
Walk around the centre. Public transport is excellent to go further afield.
Hungarian Paprika, Czech Beer, great atmosphere
by sabsi about Csikós
Feb 2008: I am still not sure but it looks as if this restaurant is closed. I was hoping to find it out but I couldn't so far.
A Hungarian restaurant in the old town with a fantastic atmosphere. Big tables, several storeys, walls full of posters and pictures, hungarian fiddlers or piano players, Czech beer .... you feel like you are on holidays here! It's a place where you can sit until 3 am just drinking wine... wonderful!
The restaurant has been there since 1950! The opening day was chosen 2 days before christmas because it was an astrologically perfect day for new ventures. Seems like it helped ; Chicken in paprika sauce ... it's extremely spice though (at least for my taste!). But then again it's hungarian and that's supposed to burn huh?
Go to the top of the Rheinturm (Rhine tower)
by BillNJ
At 234 meters tall (768 feet), the Rheinturm (Rhine tower) is the tallest structure in Düsseldorf. I heard that the views from the top are amazing. I didn't go up to the top, though, because it was cloudy with next-to-zero visibility when I was visiting.
