air berlin flies from Dusseldorf to both PAris Orly and Paris CDG. They are a budget airline, worth checking prices for your dates

Check Air France and Lufthansa also, they may have some deals.
For the eurolines bus check

For trains check

Check with Thalys if you can get a special ticket for these trains from Cologne to Paris Nord.

From Düsseldorf you can travel on a local public transport ticket (EUR 9,30) to Cologne.

No night trains on this route.

Travel Tips for Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf Tip

The office building, designed by American architect Frank Gehry.
Actually they are three office buildings designed by him. Materials he used as the outer walls are different, thus also differently in red, white and metal-colored.
Three buildings locate beside the river. It's very easy to catch your eyes even you are far away from this riverside. However, I don't like them because I don't think they are suitable for that environment.

Nessy

by IceBear7

Our Nessy is not really a piece of art, but it has something to do with air ventilation. Nessy can blow up to 70.000 cubic meters air per hour into the gully below to provide the gully workers with fresh air.

It's located at the entrance of Volksgarten.

(more "arty" pictures coming in a travelogue!)

Düsseldorf - being the city in Germany with the nickname "Little Tokyo" must have also some Karaoke bars to cater to the Japanese and Korean community.

Although I was surprised to see many young German people. Had only some beer and snacks. Find it rather expensive to pay € 25.00 per hour in one box.

Check out the views from the Rheinturm

by Redlats

Along the Rheinpromenade is the Rheinturm. Sabs told us it is the highest building in D?sseldorf. From the top you can see all the way to Cologne on a clear day (We couldn't - supposedly there are very few clear days). There is also a restaurant floor above the viewing floor.

In 2003, it cost almost 4 Euros per adult to take the elevator to the top (no stairs)

The Königsallee

by Leipzig

The Königsallee (King's Alley) or as the locals say "The Kö" is the most famous street of the city. The street name is dedicated to King to Frederic William IV of Prussia. Before the Foundation of Germany Düsseldorf was a part of Prussia.
For half a mile, exclusive shops, street cafes, fashion houses, galleries and restaurants present themselves.
