Comfortable Central Hotel
Paper thin walls spoiled what is otherwise an excellent hotel. At least I assume the walls were paper thin, because I could hear every movement made by the clowns in the next room. It wasn't just the tv at full volume, the shouting and the horse laughs that I could here in the night and morning, but also the constant opening and closing of the cupboard door. Other than that the hotel was excellent. Very clean, very comfortable, and very central. It was only a few minutes walk from the main station, and very easy to find. It would have been even more convenient had they not been fully booked the night before, and unable to have my room ready until 1pm, leaving me to wander Düsseldorf for hours.
I imagine they were fully booked because of the special deal they had: less than 30 euros for a single room per night! Normally it is more than twice that, but these are the kinds of deals you can get through agencies like HRS (linked below).
