Don't be put off by the location!
This very nice hotel is situated just a couple of streets away from Duesseldorf station. The area is a little ....hmm... let's say there are a few *exotic nightlife establishments* nearby, but don't be put off by this, the Hotel Acon is really very respectable and well run and seemed popular with visitors of a variety of nationalities.
Breakfast was a Continental affair, bread, little pots of jam and Nutella, cold meat, cheese, hardboiled eggs, tea coffee orange juice, cereals and yoghurt. The room was ensuite with TV and phone but no minibar or tea/coffee facilities.
Unique Quality: The room had a balcony with a nice view of other residential balconies and it had a lift - which seemed like an absolute luxury after 5 days in a lift-less hotel in Amsterdam. It is very centrally situated and everything is within walking distance.
