Sample the Alt Bier
Schlöffel Alt Bier is one of the finest beers I have ever tasted. The good thing about German beers is that it is always so affordable. It is usually cheaper than coke or fanta, so the choice is easy.

Hi friends in Europe, I will need to go to Dusseldorf (airport) for two days from the Paris CDG airport. After completing my work in Dusseldorf/Koln, I will need to go to Frankfurt Airport to catch a flight back home.
I looked at buying a cheap airplane ticket but it is going to cost USD800- which seems very costing. I wonder if anyone can give me some tips as to how to save money. By train or cheap flights (which airlines?). Thanks a lot, if will help save me money.

(~ 1 hour by local trains to Düsseldorf Airport. EUR 9,00).
DB timetable

From: Paris CDG
To: DUS
To: CGN
To: FRA Airport
For specials from Paris to Cologne see http://www.thalys.com.
For Cologne Hbf to Düsseldorf Airport ~ 35 min by local trains. Again EUR 9,00 (this is a zone-to-zone ticket, i.e. from anywhere in Cologne to anywhere in Düsseldorf).
If you use far distance trains (IC/EC or ICE) it will be more expensive (the DB timetable will give you the prices). And these are "only" point-to-point tickets.
Düsseldorf/Cologne to Frankfurt
If you travel through the Rhine Valley (give Koblenz as Via: station) this will be cheaper albeit slower. But much more scenic.

Too heavy food?
Or just a drink.
Try the Killepitsch, a liqueor only sold in Düsseldorf, unique in the world.
You can drink it right in front of the pub. Or buy a bottle beside in the shop It is a liqueor for the stomach. It is mild with a strong end. 50 different herbs by very good treatment to make them to the liqueor.
For cocktails see their homepage. 12 € per bottle
It's sophisticated. It's exclusive. It's beautiful. It's expensive. But it's good, oh so good!
Excellent food served in beautiful premises by very friendly staff, wearing traditional Thai costumes. Sila Thai leaves nothing to be desired!
Book in advance!!!
Open every day: 12.00 - 15.00, 18.00 - 01.00 Sila Thai offers combination menus for 2 up to 6 persons, which is a great way of getting to try several different dishes!
The Rhine also flows through Dusseldorf ;-)
It is flanked on the city side by a wide pedestrian boulevard and a nice grassy park. At one end of the boulevard is the modern Media Port with its TV tower, and at the other end is the Old Town. Along the length of the walkway are river cruise ships. Outdoor bars abound, serving the local speciality "Alt" with unrivalled views across the river.
Two almost identical bridges cross the river over to the wealthy suburb on the other bank, from where you can get great views back to the city. There is a funfair here at certain times of the year.
Sometimes known as 'the longest bar in the world' Dusseldorf's Altstadt - the Old Town - contains some 200 bars, cafes and restaurants. Its very quaint with its restaurant signs and pastel coloured buildings - even on an overcast day.
