Alt Beer
Ordering beer in a pub in Düsseldorf means getting an Alt. It has a balance of sweet maltly flavors and full hop flavors. The color of the beer is a dark red to brown. It is brewed today mostly around Dusseldorf.

HI! i am going to be in dusseldorf for a week by myself and i was wondering if you had any tips on what i can do..untill my friend comes and picks me up on the weekend....any help would be appreciated...ty!!!!!
Hi Laura,
are you into shopping ? Or maybe visiting some Museums or Art Gallerys ? Or any kind of Sports ?
When and Where are you staying ?
Lots of questions, but there is so much to do here....
Pat.
You could join meetin.org and come to a few events of the Duesseldorf group. We are quite active and have several events a week. Everything is free, as meetin is volunteer-based, you only need to pay your own costs (e.g. movie ticket).
The list of upcoming events (as well as photos etc) can be found here: http://www.meetin.org/city/MEETinDUESSELDORF

Yes, I know you have heard about this slogan with which the old city promotes itself as a tourist destination, so I will not insist too much on it. I will just say that it seems a bit exaggerated to me, in spite of the high number of bars and the young crowd that fills its streets every weekend. But the one who thought this motto out, had not seen a lot of this world, I think.
Anyway, let me be frank and tell you what I prefer to when I am in Düsseldorf and want to go out: I drive to Cologne ! ;-)
This nice restaurant is situated in the Altstadt close to the longest bar in th world. There is a typical German feel to the whole place including ditto waiters and waitresses. The Schlöffel serves excellent dinner at a good price. The beer is delicious too and brewed in the restaurant. I had a schnitzel, which they called Krüftchen. It comes srved with an egg and chips or potatoes.
the 'Fernsehturm' ( television tower ) , the city tallest tower,
best city-overview in town, has a nice 'windows'- restaurant on one of the top levels... perfect for romantic candlelight dinners at night
Many kind of fishes you can see there – from little ones to sharks. There are also crocodiles and otters and tortuous and so on. I think it worth to be seen.
Opening hours: daily from 10.00 to 18 .00.They charge 6 EUR per adult
