Beer you DO drink in Düsseldorf
by rollinstone81
Altbier is what you drink here. Pils is also an option and popular, but Alt rules the scene. There is many different brands, some of the most popular are the ones brewed in the pub, or at a brewery belonging to the pub. These would be Schumacher Alt, Uerige, Fückschen Alt, Frankenheim Alt. Schlösser Alt is also popular.
Dussledorfs Most Famous...
by steventilly about Uerige
This is one of if not THE most famous bar in Dusseldorf. The interior is quite unique with its mural walls.
Like many German bars, it's quite a labrynth inside. I'm always amazed how much room (and how MANY rooms) there are in some of these places. Anything goes again, I'd say!
Tender Tandoori
by Zandra about Tandoori
You will probably not be impressed by the interior...it's quite simple (and PINK!!!), but I'm pretty sure you'll love the food. The staff is very friendly and speak good English, and of course German. Everything they serve is excellent. I like the chicken dishes (Masala & Tikka) a lot. The meat is sooooo tender! Tandoori is without any doubt the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to!
The Rheinturm
by evona
The Rhine tower on the Rhine River was built in 1982 and this is the highest building in Dusseldorf. This telecommunications tower is 234 m high. On the top there is a restaurant. You can see from there the great panorama of the city.
The Rhine
by antistar
The Rhine is a huge river and a particularly wide and spectacular stretch affords itself the city of Düsseldorf. Great views can be had of this famous river from either of the two central bridges, the Rheinkniebrücke (pictured here) and the Oberkassler bridge, as well as the Rheinturm, the Rheinuferpromenade and many other buildings, parks and locations about the city.
