Guesthouse Claudia Kallweit: Nice and quiet
It is a great place for business, romantic, touristic or whatever trip you'd like. The owner is a nice woman. The rooms were big and spacious but the best thing was the breakfast - at least 4 kinds of cheese every morning and much more stuff.
There was a nice garden.
It's very suitable for business trip cause it's close to the Fair

Pension Sabsi: worth the squeeze
On recent visits to Düsseldorf I’ve been lucky to hole up at Pension Sabsi. It might be a tight squeeze but the balcony antics make up for any lack of space or actual sleep you might get.
The air mattress is quite comfy once you find a place to set it out but the highlight of the flat is the balcony. It must be quite nice in summer but even on a winter's night it's a fine spot for a shot of schnapps!

Private Home Stay
When we arrived in Dusseldorf, we expected to do our usual and wander around to find a hotel. Little did we know there was some major event in the city that weekend... I don't remember now what it was, maybe a football tournament or a fair. Well, all the hotel rooms in the city were booked. We checked two tourist information locations and stopped at numerous hotels throughout the day with no luck. In the evening, we were still unsure what to do, so we stopped by the tourist information center once more. They still had no rooms, but as we were leaving, the phone rang, they picked up, then they told us to stick around...
It turned out that a Doctor in Neuss, across the river from town, had two rooms available with three beds...just what we needed. The rate was 175 DM (about 90 Euro or US$120 today) for the room plus 5 DM per person for the hotel finder fee. When we arrived the family was uber-friendly, showing us to our rooms, giving us a key to the house, and even calling a cab for us so we could go back out for the evening. The next morning, the wife cooked us an American breakfast, then we were on our way. This was a great experience for us and a very good deal. Maybe the only problem was the distance from the city... I think it was maybe a 20-25 minute cab ride.
The Dusseldorf Tourist Association is located at Immermannstrasse 65b, 40210 Dusseldorf. Telefon 02-11-172020.

Inn Side Residence - Hotel Seestern: pure style
The hotel is situated in a busy area with many nationwide telecom-companies.
There is a restaurant in the hotel, which is quite good with french dishes.
with public transport you can reach all city destination quickly.
It is the design of the hotel and the rooms.
There is a shower made of glass in the middle of the room. Everything is very stylish and comfortable.

The beautiful thing about...
The beautiful thing about being in Dusseldorf on business is the fact that the company is providing the flat. I live on Graf-Recke-Strasse near the Zoo - that actually isn't a zoo at all anymore. It seems it was targeted during the war and the animals were never replaced. The 'zoo' is a nice park now & a great place to write.

Hotel Sankt Georg: Hotel Sankt Georg
Found this hotel by walking around the Aldstadt. I was assigned a large room for only DM140 on a Saturday night. The room was spacious and very comfortable. In the morning, a very tasty breakfast was served until 11am. Just in time for a late sleeper like me. The staff were very friendly and even phoned me to take breakfast.
I highly recommend this hotel.

Kai's Mom's.: Kai's Mom's.
VT member Kai welcomed me into his Mom's home. It was a great way to see local life and experience local culture. I've since lost contact with the elusive VT member but I'll never forget our one night out together. Thanks Kai.
Great warm welcoming and homey atmosphere with an ample and superb breakfast. His Mom even offered to let me bring home an Alt bier mug from her cupboard!
