Train ticket at Dusseldorf Airport
by biba12345
Hi,
We are group of 3 and we would like to travel from Dusseldorf Airport Railway Station to Hamminkeln. I got the info that we can use train tickets also for sky train from terminal to airport railway station. Is it possible to buy tickets before entering sky train or only at the railway station. Is there any discount ticket for group of 3 people?
Thanks.

Not generally. But to Hamminkeln the NRW tariff applies. This is a local public transport tariff. And the SkyTrain counts as local public transport (e.g. like a tram).

Yes you can buy tickets from ticket machines before entering the SkyTrain.

There is a mini group day ticket: SchönerTagTicket NRW (HappyDayTicket NRW) which is EUR 33,00 for 2-5 persons. Validity
Mo-Fr from 9am till 3am next day
Sa,Su from midnight till 3am next day
Single ticket is EUR 11,90. Thus the savings in your case are however minimal.
Travel Tips for Düsseldorf
Visit the Altstadt. It calls...
by bonio
Visit the Altstadt. It calls itself Europe's largest bar, cannot really disagree... it's great fun! Has to be a lazy Sunday afternoon spent in the Altstadt and along by the Rhine drinking and people watching. Dusseldorf and its people are generally relaxed and very friendly.
summertime - barbeque time
by wilde13
It is getting a very familar activity in Düsseldorf. In warm season, all the rhine area is full of people and groups having a barbeque and looking to the city.
There is so much place, that it never gets crowed.
Enjoy the evening, but take the rubbish with you!

The nicest beergarden around
by sabsi about Burghof Kaiserswerth
A beautiful place with a beergarden right at the Rhine in Düsseldorf's North - Kaiserswerth. I never really ate here, just had a tasty soup once in winter and a small snack once in summer so I don't know about their food really. I'm sure it is nice though! Make sure to go to the toilet while you are there, the ceiling is amazing! The view and the atmosphere.
The prices are among my least favourite "dishes" from this restaurant though. I paid € 4.50 for a large (0.4 l) softdrink here. A large beer was € 3!!! I could have bought a crate for the same price almost ;)
Parish fair in Düsseldorf - largest at the Rhine
by elbe
In Oberkassel, a part of Düsseldorf onb the left Rhineside opposite of the Düsseldorfer oldtown, the largest parish fair at the Rhine takes place in summer. It starts on 2nd Saturday in July and lasts nine days. There's also a riflemen-procession which is one of the largest historical processions in Germany.
On the Oberkasseler Rhinemeadows are a lot of attractions, like shooting galleries, carousels, but also spectacular fairground rides. About 3,5 million people visit the "Düsseldorfer Kirmes" every year. On Friday there's a huge firework. It starts at 22.30 o'clock and lasts about 15 minutes.
