I will be coming to duisburg on july 7th. will be staying there for 11 days, looking for 2 bedroom furnished appartment. i will be with my wife and 11 years daughter.

Watch the Rhine flow by. It's so tranquil and yet so forceful as it washes from the Swiss Alps to the North Sea. Of course, for most of the cities in the Rhineland, the Rhine was their life-blood, bringing fertile soil and commerce. In this day of industrialization and air routes, the Rhine is still the focal point of social life.
The riverside in the northern suburbs! If you do not like crowded places (and the riverside downtown is always packed in the summer...), thats the place to go... right at Kaiserswerth ferry, there is a nice and peaceful 3km walkway, where u can go for a walk, or rollerblade! A few hiden cafes in the area, where u can always make a lil pitstop for some good 'Kaffee und Kuchen' =)
Walk with the river back along Bolker Strasse and before arriving at the end look at your left for a building with gold word SCHUMAKER. Here you can taste the traditional ALT beer (tipical of this city) with food as RHEINISCHER STIELMUSEINTOPF (very good!)
The 234-metre high Rheinturm is the characteristic landmark of Duesseldorf. On topmost level is a restaurant platform, from which you have a breathtaking view over Duesseldorf.
In times of high visibility, you can see the city of Cologne but when I was here it was too misty to see even 1000m.
What i love most here is that statue, with balance. Dont know whats the name, and i lost those pictures here :((
Built between 1570 - 1573 by architect H. Tussmann, and on 1749 redesigned by Johann Joseph Couven (addition of portal and balcony a.o.). On 1958-1961 had reconstructioned.
The town hall complex consists of three buildings from different periods. The so-called 'old town hall' at the northern side of Marktplatz, the 'Wilhelminischer Bau' (period of the Emperor Wilhem II) and the 'Grupello house' at the western side.
The 'Wilhelminischer Bau' was constructed in 1875 at the place of the old town theatre and was rebuilt after the war in a new design. The Grupello house was initially the residence of the sculptor of the Jan Wellem equestrian statue.
