Freeclimbing in Duisburg

Inside the "Landschaftpark Nord" there is a "Klettergarten" - an area for freeclimbers. They turned old factory walls and columns into climbing routes. I loved watching them climb and I loved reading through the names of the routes which were really funny! There is a huge chimney on the grounds of the park as well that can be climbed! It looked extremely scary to me! You are only allowed to climb if you registered first at the office of the "Alpenverein" on the grounds of the Landschaftspark. I don't know about it but I guess you have to bring your own climbing gear.
Innenhafen - Inner Harbour

One part of the port has been rebuild in the past years to a cultural area. You can find many restaurants here, two museums and a lot of the old architecture, but in a modernized way. Famous architect Norman Foster rebuild the "Hafenforum" there for example
I think it´s really interesting to wander around, but Sabs and I didn´t had enough time..... we have to go back someday....

Duisburg -- There is not much to say to this city from my side. You can look up heaps of information in the Internet or other VT sites.
I was working here for 15 months on an assignment, arriving mondays, leaving regularly on fridays. Thus this are not really budget traveller tips, since I am here no business.
