They play in the 2. German Eishocke league Warm clothes to feel comfortable in the skating arena

City walls

by Sjalen

Duisburg's city walls are of course in no way as impressive as Tallinn or York and other classics but still manages to give a feel for what the city must once have been like - especially if you also see the city models in the museum (see tip). Not that much survives but here is the bit near the inner harbour. The oldest part of it is just beyond Dellplatz.

Duisburg - Rheinhafen

During a visit at my brothers place in Oberhausen, we made a trip to the Rheinhafen in Duisburg. This place, formerly a industrial harbour, has been modified to an an area with offices and became a recreational character. There are pubs and cafes, where you can sit close to the promande. For kids there are large toys using water for playing.
Just nearby to the harbour area there is the childrens museum, which as I heard is worth a visit for kids.

EDIT: The childrens museum is currently closed, but it might move. I will keep you informed.

O.k., that was a lie - I don't visit Duisburg regularly, but I've been there quite a few times, sometimes on "duty", sometimes voluntarily.
"Duty" means, I've had a few rowing competitions there, on the Wedau regatta course. And I've even been "in" this regatta course - because I capsized during a slalom... but that was a long time ago ;o>
However, I swam in water that already carried world championships! Cool, isn't it? Yeah, definitely.

Right, there's also some fun stuff you can do in Duisburg (pronounciation see above). I'll try to show you here.
Have a nice time. *bows*
