Mudia Art: Unique, oh yes, here's where only the lucky and beautiful get in, dressed in really pretty black stuff. Well, I've heard it so and so, some people say it's not THAT hard to get in, but then you really can't come up with jogging shoes and a bad hairstyle and expect to pass the bouncers. No no.This certainly has a reason - I've never been inside (I've never even TRIED, ok? ;ob), but I've heard of scarcely dressed gogo-girls dancing in glass boxes on the boys toilets, candlesticks everywhere, 5 areas with charts music, latin, techno and house, also some open air space and since the whole thing is placed inside an old warehouse, the architecture is somewhat different from a normal club. People come here from everywhere, the place is really famous and they don't even advertise it, no website, no nothing, there's no big sign yelling its message at you - the owners of this club really hit it big.
Cinemaxx Circus: A range of pubs, clubs and snack bars in the basement of the Cinemaxx building. Nice Irish pub, but way too crowded.
Musikpalette: Wanted to go dancing there once, but it was 'only' 11 p.m. and we were told we should maybe wait another couple of hours until the crowds come in... oh well. Apart from that, here seems to be where _not_ to look for techno, rather rock. Which could be nice for me, if only the party started earlier...
KKC: Student pub on the grounds of the university. Been there once to have a chat and a coke with some friends - pretty spacy, nice dancefloor, danceable music and a good cultural program as I've been told.
Zeche Carl: Only been there for a few concerts - the location is grand, another old mining building, but somehow, my favourite bands never seem to come there (not to speak of the sad rest of Essen's concert venues). Anyway, nice spot, probably good parties too - chilling out is possible in the pub and biergarten.
Baikonur: I don't know *???* the website is down for a while and all I know is that it's said to be one of the cooler clubs in Essen.
Pupasch: You won't meet me here...
Pflaumenbaum: Or here, for that matter Yet, I've been to the Pflaumenbaum more than one time, but only accompanying some friends - the whole style is just so not my piece of cake. The clubs are good for what they are tho, they're the meeting place for those who love Palma de Mallorca and Schlager and NDW-music. If you're one of them, go there, cause these people sure know how to party! It's just not my style *heeee*
Neue Liebe: Not so sure about this one, but probably not my style either. Supposedly charts music, dancefloor, NDW. Just a guess.
