Hattingen is a small city mear Bochum and Essen. The old city is the area of interest here which is very nice place to hand around, do your shopping and relax in one of the many bars or coffee shops.

Burg Isenberg Castle
This old ruins castle is located just in the outskirt of this small city at the top of the hill. To get to the castle you can take a short walk through the forest road up the hill.
After riding the monorail of Wuppetal we were heading for the coalmine in Essen but we made a detour to Hattingen. Sabsi had not been here before but had heard about it from another VT member.
Well we were glad we visited its a most delightful place to stroll around and as for the cakes...well eat your heart out. I'd return just for the cakes!!
Hattingen a wonderful small old charming CITY . Placed in the SOUTH of the better known CITY BOCHUM directly at the RUHR -VALLEY .
With about 58 000 Inhabitants very small CITY .
In our AREA it s the beautifulst and very popular CITY , well known for its PEDESTRIAN ZONE . There u ll find most of the old houses .
Some of them are nice retaurated RESTAURANTS .
