Jägerhof: Hegensdorf

This was easily the best place I ever blundered into. I knew it existed, and hoped they would have a room open. I lucked out, they did. The Nacke Family runs the place, and they work very hard at it... The rooms are great, super comfortable and very affordable. Hegensdorf itself is quite small, and the bar on the ground floor serves this lovely village as the "town Pub", so to speak. Quite good Pilsner on tap, a fully stocked bar, and a good menu to choose from at dinner. I suggest the Jägerschnitzel, it is the best I have had in several years of visiting various places in Europe. For my next trip into the area, I intend to stay here and bicycle through this beautiful area.

The Jägerhof is next to the Saint Vitus Church, and there was something quite sane, and very normal, to be awakened by the Church bells in the morning... The beauty of the area alone makes the trip worthwhile, and a good Bike is essential.
