Carnival time in Germany...

Carnival time in Germany !
That's me and two of my friends on our way to celebrate Altweibernacht. This is part of Germany's carnival tradition. On the Thursday night before Ash Wednesday, women dress up as an old crone, wearing witches masks and clubs. It's the evening of the old women, Altweibernacht, and they are in charge, hitting the men over the head with their clubs. It's kind of ladies night, only the women can invite to dance. The men are supposed to guess the true identity of the old hag they are dancing with.
If a man goes to work on this Thursday, he will wear an old tie, or no tie at all, because the women are allowed to cut it off (symbolic for ?). They are carried as trophies! Even policemen are not safe for this practice, I assume they keep an old cut-off tie in their wardrobe that they use again every year when the women are on the loose with their scissors and clubs!.
