Travel Tips for Mönchengladbach
It was here that I started to attend an army school. The city houses around 270,000 inhabitants, and is the biggest city west of the lower Rhine. Moenchengladbach is placed in the center of the Duesseldorf - Koeln - Aachen triangle and is 22 miles from the border of Venlo in Holland. Places to visit would be the Museum Abteiberg, an international center for contemporary art and one of the world's most impressive museums just a stone's throw from the 12th Century Minster. Then there is Schloss Rheydt, a municipal museum housing an attractive historic art collection. If your into music and ballet then the Theater Moenchengladbach is the place for you.
Football, football, football
We came to Mönchengladbach solely for the purpose of watching a game of football.
These days the stadium Borussia Park is located at the outskirts of the city and therefore if you arrive by train you never get to see downtown Mönchengladbach which is a shame.
