mülheim an der ruhr
muelheim is the city where i grow up. the town is part of the "ruhrpott". in about 5 minutes you can be in three other towns (oberhausen, essen and duisburg). in this congested urban area there is a lot to see. i think that w is the season why i have never moved to another city. in muelheim you can live in a small town with the benefits of a large city. over 5.3 million people live in the "ruhrpott" (more than in our capital city berlin with about 3.4 citiziens)
"green city on the river"
the cream of muelheim is the nature. there are a lot places for walking or cycling. the "ruhr" flows thru the city. there is a walking path next to the river where you can go (about 8 km) to "kettwig", a beautiful traditional part of essen.
muelheim's city is not really famous for shopping. but there are a few shops on the schlossstrasse (pedestrian zone) and the backstreets. on the end there is the "forum", a small shopping mall.
