Promenade
by milugares
The Promenade is a car-free "street" which surrounds and circles the city centrum.
Until the XIX century, the city walls stood there.
Nowadays, a green area - including some water pods - has taken their place.
It is a nice place to go for a walk, as well as a cycling way
SC Preußen Münster 06

A first round cup game against vfl Wolfsburg, not to be missed! Tickets arranged in advance and collected - no problem. Now Preußen stadium is, understandably, not the most modern so, on a very wet day there was little cover to be found. Sadly we only stopped for around 15 minutes before retiring to a pub!
For the record a 2-1 win for Wolfsburg.
Schloss Varlar

This beautiful moated castle is unique as it is one of the few neo-classic moated castles in the Münsterland area. The interior can not be visited - it is privately-owned - but you can partly walk around the castle and admire it from a distance.
Drive direction Coesfeld on road B254 and then on direction "Ahaus" until exit "Schloss Varlar".

The pictures of the ambassadors who negotiated the peace treaty to the 30 Years War. As every little territory, even tiny city states, where represented, it is surprising they actually agreed on a peace treaty. Very unlike the UN security council today, for example.
