Travel Tips for Bad Kreuznach
Kirner Pils.
by Jerelis
Let’s make no secret of it. We both like a nice cold glass of beer. Being abroad is always a challenge to find a beer we like, which reflects our taste of having a beer. In Germany it was sometimes rather difficult. We found out that there are quite some local beers, only known in that particular area. But anyway, we did like the Kirner Pils.
The history of the Kirner family dates back to the 15th century. The first link to a brewery is made in the 17th century when they opened the doors in the little village of Kirn. The beer became rather popular and ever since 1798 it´s even available on a large scale. Just try it, it´s good!
ROWING CLUB
by mtncorg
Staying awhile? You might want to join the local Rudderverein/Rowing Club - Crueznacker Ruderverein - which uses the still waters along the south course of the Nahe river to practise their shells upon. the boathouses are on the east side from the Brueckenhaueser. A German version of the Thames! Get to be a member and you get to use the equipment hoarded in the boathouses.
MANNHEIMER STRASSE
by mtncorg
Mannheimer Strasse is the main shopping center street in Bad Kreuznach. Most of the street is restricted to pedestrians only. The street leads over teh Nahe river via the Brueckenhaueser to the Altstadt to the north of the river. Lots of shopping alternatives exist along or very nearby the street. This is the city's living room and you will run into most people you know at some time or another along this street.
