St.Nikolaus hospital
by globetrott
Kues is named after a famous philosopher and cardinal Nikolaus von Kues (also named Cusanus 1401-1464)
He was the founder of the monastery and the hospital St.Nikolaus, that has one of the most precious libraries and the oldest astronomical globe of Germany.
Unfortunately I did not see it from inside so far, but maybe I may next time.
St.Nikolaus monastery is just opposite of the hotel 3 Koenige
Burg Landshut
by tessy
There are lots of castles in the Mosel valley. Burg Landshut, the castle near Bernkastel, where you can walk to and have a drink and take some pics from the valley and the castle. My plans on that day were different, so I climbed up the other side to walk to Traben Trabach
The old townhall / das alte Rathaus
by globetrott
The old baroque townhall is certainly one of the most beautiful buildings in Bernkastel-Kues.
Just click on my picture and have a look for the old windows on 1st floor and the great ornaments around the balcony.
On top of the balcony you see a small statue of the virgin Mary.
