A Few Of My German Friends At The "Beach Party"Bitburg & Surrounding Area's
"Cover Band Concerts"
In the summer, there are usually a lot of cover band concerts you can go to. It is for all ages but mainly people from ages 16-30's go to these. There is also an entry fee to pay at the gate ranging from 5-15 Euro depending on the concert. There will be 2 seperate lines... One for 17 and under. Then another line for 18 and older. This is for different colored wristbands because 16 & 17 year olds can only drink beer as for 18 and older can have beer and mixed drinks.
You need to bring an ID with you just incase you are asked. It is local bands playing top hit songs. It is a lot of fun, drinks are fairly cheap. Usually you have to buy tokens/ coupons for the drinks which is about 1 Euro per token/ coupon. A beer would be one token and a mixed drink would be 2 tokens. Most places let you take beer bottles back and you get a token back also.
Keep your items close by you. If possible, only bring a wallet or something because if you get drunk, your still will most likely get lost.
Men, dont be ashamed to pee in the bushes, all men do it, even if thousands of people are close by. It's like a line of men peeing. It's funny.
People do crowd around the drink stands so sligtly wiggle yourself through the crowd without causing any trouble.
In the summer it is still cold at night so bring a jacket and dress appropriately.
I went to a concert called "Beach Party". Dont be fooled. Germany's idea of a beach party is a hill with beach balls and blow up whales.
The toilets are awful after a few hours. They are portable toilets so they are nasty. One you get to the concert I advise you (especially ladies) to get some toilet paper to put in your pocket or bag because later on in the night there will be no more toilet paper left.
DONT WEAR FLIP FLOPS... I already made that mistake. My toes were stepped on.
"Drinks"
Try a Bitburger or a Copa. You cant go wrong.
They also have mini shot bottles of a few varieties.
If you dont plan on getting drunk, be sure to remember to drink a cup of water after ever drink. This should help.
"Friends...A Few Tips"
Try to party with your friends. I went with my cousins and other guys and I had a blast. We were dancing, drinking, and just living life to its fullest. Everybody is friendly so if you are alone, dont be shy and go talk to somebody.
Dont be ashamed to dance the night away, even if you think you suck at dancing. Everybody will be too drunk to remember how you danced.
Beware of Moshpits! They do occur. My friend was pushed into one and tripped and found himself rolling down the hill. Funny but painful.
