Have your wedding at Cochem castle !
by globetrott
It is possible to rent parts of the castle for your private festivities and even a marriage ! Just click on my link below and see the price-list for the offers made by the castle-management. They will prepare everything, including the carriages, meals, music and photographers.
The Reichsburg in Cochem is certainly one of the most beautiful places to have a marriage in Germany !

For 'grounded' plugs, the "Schuko" plug and receptacle with side grounding contacts is used (see picture)
The receptacle will also accept the not-grounded plug shown in the previous tip.
The Old Town Centre
by MikeAtSea
The town centre of Cochem with its old fortifications and town gates lined with half-timbered houses is also a pretty side. Many shops, restaurants, cafes and hotels can be found here, next to small museums and galleries.
beautifully tiled ovens in Cochem castle
by globetrott
All of the rooms of Cochem castle have beautiful tiled ovens, all of which are different in color and design. Some of them may be heated from outside of the room, so the servants did not have to enter the living-rooms of the castle-owners for keeping the fire burning.
The room that you see on my picture had also a "secret door" where you may have escaped easily and unseen through a hidden corridor and staircase to a much lower part of the castle.
The marketsquare / Marktplatz in Cochem
by globetrott
Take a closer look at the marketsquare / Marktplatz in Cochem with all its beautiful halftimbered houses. The church in the back looks interesting from outside, but when you get inside there is nothing special to see.
On the left of my picture you may see a bit of the townhall of Cochem and the well of Saint Martin.
From the marketsquare you may take one of the many paths up to the castle, but some of these paths are quite steep sometimes and paved with cobbled stones.
