Geisterführung - castle-tours for children
by globetrott
Geisterführung & Räuberessen / ghost-tours for children
For children between 4 and 10 years you may book also special tours, that are more adapted to their interest and in that tour some parts of the castle will be visited that are not on the itinerary of the ordinary tour through the castle.
At the end of the tour the children will have a meal like the old knights used to have it with chicken and applejuice, eating with their hands only...
The tour takes about 1 hour + the meal and is held every thursdays at 3p.m. in summertime or any other time for a minimum of 25 participants.
The price is 9 Euros per child and 11 Euros for the parents.

historical mustard mill
by dolphyn722
no mean mr. mustard here! wolfgang steffens' historische senfmühle produces cold milled mustard. you'll find the mill on the river, across the mosel from the tourist-y part of cochem, just to the left of the bridge. for about €2.50 you can step into the mustard-colored room where they make the mustard, learn about the history, process and watch the mill in action. our 'tour' was in german, i'm not sure if it is available in english as well. it's an interesting little stop! free samples of 7 sorts of gourmet mustard. the mustard is sold in stoneware crocks which can be refilled. open from 10am-6pm daily, tours at 11am, 2pm, 3pm, & 4pm. group tours available upon request. in the basement is a wine cellar, also with tours i believe.
Vineyards
by Leipzig
Cochem is located in Germany's winegrowing region. Driving along the Moselle River you see hills covered with vines all over. Every now and then you can stop in a village and have a glass of local wine in a tavern. Better to travel by bike because you shouldn't drink and drive a car.
a precious ceiling and great chandelier
by globetrott
The beautifully decorated ceiling and the great chandelier gives that small room in the castle a special atmosphere. Of course the chandelier was first lighted by candles only and became electrified much later.
Most of the rooms inside the castle may be rented for your special festivities - just take a look at the link below !
There will also be special events like Gourmet Festivals, a Burgfest and special events at Christmas-time inside the castle.
The view through the window
by sim1
Some windows are beautiful to look at and some are also beautiful to look through. Like this one for example. From here we had a beautiful view over the Mosel Valley. It was so nice to have a private guided tour. We had all the time in the world to enjoy the views, the rooms and the castle.
