Adult Education Center (VHS)
by Nemorino
The Kaiserslautern Adult Education Center (VHS) had a record year in 2007, with nearly 34,000 class-hours, over 1,100 courses und nearly 13,000 enrollments. This is a significant increase over previous years and even tops the previous record year of 1981, when they had 32,000 class hours.
They are also proud of the fact that they are reaching adults of all age groups. 21% of their course participants in 2007 were under 25 years old, 48% were between 25 und 49 years old, 20% were between 50 and 64 and the remaining 11% were over 65.
Like most adult education centers they have a wide range of courses in the areas of Politics, Culture, Health, Languages, Work-related courses and basic or remedial education. (They don't seem to have any opera courses, though.)

"Japanese Garden"
A peaceful garden in the center of the busy city.
"Kaiserbrunnen"
The Kaiserbrunnen is a sort of history of the area in 3D. It is topped by Emporer Barbarossa and surrounding him is a football from when 1FSK won the Bundesliga championship, an Opel motor, and many more. It is fun place for kids since they enjoy playing among the many figures.
"Stiftskirche"
Located on the Markstrasse and surrounded by trees and cafes, it is a beautiful place in the center of Kaiserslautern. During the Christmas season the area surrounding the church hosts the city's Christmas Market.
bmiller39's new Kaiserslautern Page

This is a pretty short page because there is so much to do and see..I just wanted to share a few highlights of a great restaurant hotel in a town called Hoehenecken or Hohenecken near Kaiserslautern and two litle towns called Landstuhl and Ramstein not far away...
Best bet for dinner and a hotel ....

No matter where I live, I always prefer to have my bedroom windows face east! Looking out my bedroom window on a cold morning, I get the first rays of the morning sun!
More interesting architecture. I like the big balconies on the top floor with all the plants. I wish I had a balcony!
I like shooting photos in the morning. Sometimes, I just get up and go out on long walks around the city just after sunrise. And sometimes you have to shoot a silhouette in order to get a proper shot of the colors of the sky!
I like modern art. It has a way of adding character, but subjectively. There aren't hard and fast rules on what effects which emotions from all people.
I'm always happy when autumn comes. I like living in a place with all 4 seasons. I tried living in California, but strangely, the lack of change in the weather got on my nerves. I contradict myself though... sometimes I think that all I want is sunshine, beaches and hot weather. Hmmm...
Another autumn photo. Colorful leaves, falling to the ground. Winter is on the way -- my least favorite season. Winter's a bit dreary in Kaiserslautern; too many cloudy days!
A street with character.
This is part of a fountain near the Stiftsplatz. It's in a small area where teenagers hang out and skateboard, so this statue doesn't get a lot of visitors. Pity, because it's quite nice.
